Kısa Mesafeler Kitabı (The Book of Short Distances) accompanies Borga Kantürk’s SAHA Studio project Kısa Mesafeler Kitaplığı (Library of Short Distances), an evolving artwork built around 240 books selected for their ability to travel physically and mentally over short distances. Conceived as a three-part publication—En Route…, Index, and Lines—the book extends the library into the form of an artist’s publication, combining bibliography, reading, and conceptual writing. Drawing a single sentence from each book in the collection, Kantürk constructs a new textual landscape where collecting becomes editing and reading becomes artistic production. Blurring the boundaries between archive, catalogue, and artist’s book, the publication reflects Kantürk’s long-standing engagement with memory, classification, and the circulation of printed matter.
