Made during Roelant Meijer’s artist residency at JOYA-AIR in Cortijada Los Gázquez, Andalucía, Wood to be collected gathers traces from twelve short walks around a temporary home in the white clay landscape of southern Spain. Refusing the grand landscape view, Meijer turns toward fragments: small details detached from their terrain, photographed and paired with brief notes. The book becomes a quiet field ritual, a sensory archive of walking, looking down, and collecting what the landscape leaves at one’s feet.
