Mary Never Wanted Jesus is a stark, confrontational work by Genesis P-Orridge in collaboration with Thee Majesty, operating at the intersection of ritual sound, spoken incantation and post-industrial minimalism. Stripped of conventional song structures, the record unfolds as a ceremonial text — part invocation, part rupture — reflecting P-Orridge’s lifelong engagement with anti-religious mythologies, body politics and psychic resistance. Positioned within the extended lineage of Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV, the album functions less as a musical object and more as an artifact: a deliberate disturbance of inherited belief systems and cultural obedience.
