Inside the Line collects early Joy Division recordings and live moments — including the punk-raw demo “Inside the Line” from the band’s Warsaw era — assembled on a non-official vinyl issued under the Retropop name. While not part of the band’s official Factory Records discography, these rough cuts and rehearsal takes document the pre-Unknown Pleasures ferocity of Ian Curtis, Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook and Stephen Morris, capturing visceral, unvarnished moments from the band’s formative recordings and live fragments.
