Beyaz Toros is Göksu Baysal’s conceptual artist book built around the Renault 12 as a loaded symbol in Turkey. Once an everyday car, later a signifier of fear and disappearance, the “White Toros” becomes a metaphor through which landscape, memory, and political absence intersect. Using black-and-white photography, negative prints, archival fragments, and non-linear sequencing, Baysal avoids direct narration and instead constructs a quiet, unsettling space where history lingers without resolution.
