Face, Wall, Istanbul is a partial visual archive of portrait-oriented stencil works found on the streets of Istanbul, photographed between 2003 and 2025. Compiled by Kadir Çıtak, the book traces stencil as both a reproducible printing technique and an anonymous urban gesture, carrying political, poetic, and commercial intent. Bringing together materials from multiple personal archives — including Tunç “Turbo” Dindaş, Başak Atalay (StreetArtLan), Gülsen Şenol, Hande Zerkin, İrem Güler, Nalan Yırtmaç, and Çıtak himself — the publication frames the city wall as a site of collective memory, erasure, and repetition within Istanbul’s constantly shifting street dynamics.
