Retard is Baruchello’s tiny time-machine: 72 frames extracted from the 1996 work Retard, where the artist’s hand appears holding a stopwatch—measuring the delay between two nearly identical images. The subject barely changes (a bush, leaves, trees), but the point is brutal: the second can never truly match the first.
