Hardcore: Volume 2 is part of Ed Barcelon’s ongoing research project PUTTING HC ON THE MAP, dedicated to preserving the visual history of North American hardcore. This risograph-printed publication compiles original flyers produced between 1980 and 1985, documenting the venues, performances, and graphic language that shaped one of the most influential underground music movements of the twentieth century. Functioning equally as an archive and an artist’s publication, it captures the urgency, politics, and DIY aesthetics of early hardcore culture through its ephemeral printed matter.
